The Estée Edit Gritty & Glow Magnetic Face and Eye Palette Set - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hey, so I was just standing in forepart of my fridge in the kitchen, simply I wasn't there to brand you a sail of brownies, considering…how would y'all even get the brownies? I wish I could ship them through the screen. That would be cool if somebody could figure that out.
No, I was in the kitchen to encounter if these ii new Estée Edit Gritty & Glow Magnetic Heart and Face Palettes would stick to my fridge considering they're magnetic, and yes, they do — and so you lot can use them as both makeup and fridge magnets to hold whatever delicious recipe you're working on at the moment.
The palettes are part of a $58 set in the Estée Edit holiday 2022 collection. One is just a straight-upwardly eye shadow palette, and the other is for confront and eyes.
When I opened the Center Palette the beginning time, I immediately thought of the almost orgasmic but also laughably expensive $95 Victoria Beckham X Estée Lauder Drove palette released last month.
Information technology's astonish! — but it'south also crazy expensive, so I hoped that this might be a more affordable dupe.
Information technology's not, simply information technology comes close. The colors are similar, but the Victoria Beckham shadows are slightly cooler toned and more neutral. The Estée Edit Eye Palette shadows are also shinier, and the pearl particles are less refined.
Only…the Victoria palette is a staggering $95.
Yes, wow.
It's clearly aimed at a very posh (haha, get it?) clientele, whereas the Estée Edit Gritty Eye Palette aims to delight a peradventure younger crowd that craves something flashier with mega shimmer.
I like shimmer, merely I'g really picky about it. I like it when the pearl particles are small because, you lot know, whatever, I'm in my 40s, and big shimmer particles make my lines await more than…line-y. And I'1000 not into that.
Thankfully, the Estée Edit Gritty Center Palette shadows don't take that kind of shimmer, which is great.
And nigh that proper noun — the Gritty Eye Palette — that'south kind of an unfortunate name, isn't it? Because in makeup parlance, "gritty" isn't typically used to describe something good, only I think it refers to grungy and smoky middle looks here. That'due south probably the deal.
I do see some fallout with the eye palette — more the Victoria Beckham shadows — merely it's non a big deal. I just practice my optics kickoff and clean upwardly afterward. Also, the shadows blend easily.
The Estée Edit Gritty & Glow Magnetic Eye and Face up Palette Set
Limited edition, available at present at Sephora and sephora.com ($58 for a set with both palettes)The prepare comes with…
- I Gritty Middle Palette with vi Pearlized eyeshadows in Swerve (golden copper), Riff (champagne rose golden), Fire (burgundy bronze), Wavy (night emerald), Mood (midnight black with multicolored sparkle), Trip (deep iridescent blue)
- One Glow Face + Eye Palette with six multi-utilise powders in Snowlit (platinum), 14K Glow (champagne), 1st Low-cal (soft pinkish), Gleam (dandy pink), Ray (golden bronze), Beachy (burnished copper)
The Glow Face up & Eye Palette powders, which I've mostly used to highlight, are also very shiny, but I don't usually desire a super bright smoothen on my cheeks, and so I merely utilise a little. If you take big pores, tread lightly, and buff that down with a skunk brush.
I'm fatigued to…
Magnets! I have a bunch of them on my fridge. Some are from trips I've taken, and others are gifts from other people.
They're not bad trip gifts because they're so practical, and they don't take upwards a lot of room in your pocketbook.
Some of them are really funny and weird, too. I have this 1 from Montana with a wolf on it, and there'southward a moon backside his butt…but information technology kind of looks like he'due south farting a bubble.
I don't know… 🙂
The other day when I was looking closely at my refrigerator magnets, I realized that this one I got on a trip to New York many moons ago says "Empire State Building" on it in Comic Sans, which I plant really alarming…because I actually, actually hate Comic Sans.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty aficionado,
Karen
